Permanent New Drift Attack Feature Active Now in Forza Horizon 6

Forza Horizon 6 has a new, dedicated drifting mode, dubbed Drift Attack. The mode functions similar to the existing Time Attack mode, and is accessed directly from the open world with no additional loading or lobby system. Just like Time Attacks, all you need to do is drive through the gantry and Drift Attack will begin.

The home of the new mode is the existing Shimanoyama Circuit. While lapping the course, points are earned the same way they are in Horizon Drift and at Drift Zones – but Drift Attack adds a new scoring layer to consider with the addition of “Clipping Zones” around the track. These zones will boost scores for drifts executed within their marked boundaries.

Drift Attack features the same in-world leaderboard functionality of Time Attacks, and has been integrated into the Horizon Festival campaign (unlocked by obtaining the yellow wristband). Knocking off Drift Attack Collection Journal tasks will score you the Drift Attack racesuit and helmet, plus a brand-new Forza Edition car: the 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Forza Edition. Pleasingly, a stock XJ-S has also been added to the Autoshow for all players to purchase at any time.

The addition of Drift Attack comes alongside the arrival of the Horizon Playlist Series 5, ‘British Automotive’, which will run from September 10 to October 8. The 10 series reward cars (three of which are new-to-Horizon) are listed below:

  • 2019 Ginetta G40 Junior (earn 20 points during the Summer Season)
  • 2021 McLaren 620R (earn 40 points during the Summer Season)
  • 2015 Jaguar XKR-S GT (earn 20 points during the Autumn Season)
  • 2021 MINI John Cooper Works GP (earn 40 points during the Autumn Season)
  • 2006 Vauxhall Astra VXR (earn 20 points during the Winter Season)
  • 2016 Bentley Bentayga (earn 40 points during the Winter Season)

  • 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed (earn 80 points over the course of the whole ‘British Automotive’ series)
  • 2019 Aston Martin Valhalla Concept Car (earn 160 points over the course of the whole ‘British Automotive’ series)

Playground Games also confirmed the next series will be called ‘Horizon Meets’, which will feature a temporary 7-Eleven Konbini evolving world feature, plus more Eventlab content and new-to-Horizon cars.
