The Tennessee Titans will kick off their 2026 season on Sunday at Nissan Stadium against the New York Jets and have already faced some adversity.
The Titans got word that their ascending linebacker, Cedric Gray, will have to clear concussion protocol before being available in 2026. The rising star suffered a concussion over the weekend in a UTV accident, and likely won’t be available.

Ironically, overcoming adversity is a topic that Turron Davenport discussed with second-year wideout Elic Ayomanor on Monday, and he had an interesting answer.
“This offseason, that’s one of the things I worked on the most: the mental side of the game, responding to adversity, and like how you can bring yourself or maybe not get out of it after having adversity,” Ayomanor said. “But as a team, like we’ve gone through a full camp together, and we’ve seen each other respond to adversity on a daily basis.”
If Ayomanor is right, it would be a significant step forward for the Titans, who have struggled to overcome adversity over the past two seasons under the Brian Callahan regime. Now, with a maturing quarterback on offense and a new, experienced coaching staff led by Robert Saleh, it sounds like Tennessee has made strides and could react better when something goes wrong.
