Carlos Alcaraz‘s first-round match at the U.S. Open marked the debut of not one but two Travis Scott x Nike collaborations.

The Travis Scott x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Ostrich” was worn by Alcaraz after his win and is slated for an imminent release. Unlike the Vapor 12 collab the reigning U.S. Open men’s champion wore, and most of Scott’s Nike and Jordan sneakers, the AF1 doesn’t feature a backward Swoosh. Branding instead comes in the form of the Cactus Jack smiley logo getting pressed into the shoe’s lateral side.

Most prominent is the texture of ostrich leather that prevails throughout the shoe’s upper. And running counter to Scott’s usual penchant for drab, often desert-inspired hues is a uniform baby blue treatment running from sole to upper to interior.

Scott has previously collaborated on the Air Force 1 Low on a few previous occasions, but it’s been quite some time. Two slightly different versions released with canvas uppers and chrome Swooshes in 2017 and 2018, followed by a patchwork treatment in 2019. All-white editions with marks for the album “Utopia” also dropped in 2023, but the skus on them matched the regular “Triple White” variants stocked by Nike.

None of those AF1s had Swooshes either, so in that regard this ostrich twist keeps it consistent.

The Travis Scott x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Ostrich” is available this week through Nike’s 47 Chrystie Street space in New York City, although how access is being doled out isn’t yet clear. Another release will follow, however, through the Cactus Jack website for a yet-to-be-determined price.
