Nicole Kidman & Sandra Bullock Contrast At ‘Practical Magic 2’ Event

Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock channeled their inner witch, turning to method acting with their ensembles for a “Practical Magic 2” screening held on Aug. 27 in London. The duo was joined by their co-stars Joey King and Maisie Williams, newcomers to the beloved franchise.

Kidman’s look centered around a deep red dress hailing from Rodarte. The maxi style featured delicate black ribbon and lace trim around the plunging neckline, which dangled slightly across the bodice and down to the waist, creating textural interest. The garment was seemingly crafted of dark red silk, given the piece shimmered slightly under direct light. Capped sleeves gave way to a mermaid-esque skirt that slightly flared outwards for a flattering finish.

Bullock opted for a more tailored ensemble, consisting of a black and white striped button-down that was unbuttoned and tucked into slightly voluminous black slacks. To create shape, a white cumberbund meets corset was fixed around her waist, imparting a playful almost masculine touch reminiscent of traditional suiting. The “Miss Congeniality” star’s look was in direct contrast to Kidman’s more form-fitted ensemble.

Kidman was styled in sharp and short Hagelstam Ruby pumps in black. The shoes, which retail for $547, feature shiny black leather uppers that transition into knife-like pointed toes affixed with crisscrossing lace-up detailing reminiscent of a corset. The triangular toes give way to slightly curved heels standing at 4.1 inches. The shoe silhouette is quite classic upon first glance; however, the curved heel and lace-up toes remix the footwear into something grungier. The Ruby silhouette comes in a plethora of neutral tones beyond black, including a plethora of tan and skin tone hues.

Bullock also opted for black leather shoes, but with square toes that imparted a structured touch. This mirrored the clean, crisp lines of her ensemble. While they were eclipsed beneath the hem of her trousers, the actress’ shoe choice featured shiny black leather uppers. During this press junket thus far, the thespian has opted for mostly black footwear like sandal heels that allows her outfits to take center stage.
