Promenading. 🐚

North Pier and young gull. There are hundreds of ravenous seagulls in Blackpool, all ready to take a chance on your chips.

North Pier is the oldest of the three piers, opening in 1863. I took a stroll along it.

The double deck Venitian Carousel 🎠 on North Pier is joyfully whimsical. So pretty.

So many views of the iconic Blackpool Tower. And cheeky seaside photo board.

North Pier hosts a theatre, a couple of bars ( Bloom looked pretty above) , amusements, fairground rides etc.

Theres also a miniature train , though I think this one has wheels…

I headed back to the promenade and found The Comedy Carpet in the shadow of Blackpool Tower. A unique tribute to British comedy.

I mean you could spend hours reading all the jokes and comedy catchphrases.

Walking along the promenade toward Central Pier, I looked back at Blackpools Tower. Inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris, it opened in 1894 and stands 158 metres tall.

The success of the North Pier meant a second pier was opened in 1868. The Central pier is slightly shorter and packed full of family entertainment , arcades and fast food. I am not a fan of lovelocks but the new Heart of Central Pier art instillation is a fun framing feature. 🩷

I was hungry by this point so treated myself to coffee and donuts from a cute kiosk.

Kept seeing these kitch horse drawn fairytale carriages trot by as I made my way along the promenade.

It seemed to take forever walking to The South Pier ( the distance between North & South is only 1.6 miles) in the heat. I had arrived in Blackpool around 10.30am but now it was past noon and the temperature had escalated. I abandoned my plan to walk along the pier and decided to catch the tram back up the promenade. The South Pier was built in 1893 , today it is apparently the most adrenaline fueled of the three Blackpool piers and is situated near the Pleasure Beach.

Quickly snapped this Upside-down House on the seafront. Intriguingly it apparently contains 13 uniquely themed rooms to explore and is currently the largest Upside-down house in the UK.

I decided to have a very quick lunch in The Beach House Restaurant on the promenade. It was lovely here but I was very pushed for time, having booked to visit The Tower Ballroom at 1pm. Luckily the lovely staff were happy for me to order skin-on fries and a drink. The view looks out across the Irish Sea and to The North Pier.

I especially loved my mojito mocktail. 😊

Tower Ballroom in Blackpool Tower. What a majestic setting! ps I never watch Strictly but still found this a magical experience. Listening to the iconic Wurlitzer organ and watching folk glide by was very relaxing.
