The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Vikings still have their first-round pick, but a lot could happen in the next 9 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft in a class that many are saying could be one of generational wealth.

ESPN’s Jordan Reid recently released the latest 2027 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going with a new offensive addition in the potential top tight end, LSU’s Trey’Dez Green.

Reid explains the Green pick, writing, “With the jury still out on Kyler Murray, who is on a one-year deal, this could turn into a spot for a quarterback. But if Murray plays well, Minnesota might be looking for a dynamic playmaker such as Green. Built like an NBA small forward, the 6-foot-7, 237-pound Green is one of the most unique players in the class. He is a mismatch for defenders — he’s basically a supersized wide receiver — and his production could explode in Lane Kiffin’s uptempo offense. And he would be an eventual replacement for T.J. Hockenson, who’s entering the final year of his contract.”

The play from the Vikings tight end position in recent years has lacked juice. Adding someone like Green to the group gives it a much-needed shot in the arm.
