Sandra Bullock turned heads at the “Practical Magic 2” European Premiere at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square on Wednesday in London. The Oscar winner paired a leopard-print Givenchy fall 2026 dress and the fashion house’s modern take on T-strap high heels.

The frock featured a strapless design, a fitted bodice and an ankle-length skirt with a slight slit up the right leg, finished with a massive, exaggerated bow at the hip. The opening of the skirt and the shorter hem allowed her shoes to be on full display. She paired the trendy dress with a pair of Givenchy T-strap heels, also from Sarah Burton’s fall 2026 collection.

The black patent leather high heel sandal featured a prominent, voluminous pompom and fringe trim at the heel. The dramatic pompom detail and the ultra-square toe gave the shoe a more modern feel. The open-toe sandals are defined by a vertical strap running down the center of the foot and meeting a horizontal strap circling the ankle, forming a distinct “T” shape.

T-strap heels first rose in popularity in the 1920s. As skirts got shorter and the Jazz Age changed how women dressed, women wanted to show off their feet and looked for secure shoes for dancing. The T-strap design kept the shoe snug and secure, while exposing skin and stockings for a flirtier feel.

The style remained wildly popular into the 1930s and early 1940s, ultimately becoming a wardrobe staple. For fall 2026, shoe designers and luxury fashion houses including Givenchy and Dior are breathing new life into the classic style, pairing the T-strap with sculptural heels, sharp or contemporary square toes, and floral appliqués and other embellishments, like Bullock’s shoes. 

“Practical Magic 2” marks Bullock’s first movie in four years. She returns as Sally Owens alongside Nicole Kidman, who plays Gillian Owens. The actresses are reprising their roles as the two witch sisters nearly 30 years after the 1998 original. Original cast members Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing are also returning, alongside new additions including Joey King and Maisie Williams as Sally’s grown daughters. The film will arrive in theaters on Sept. 11.
