We’ve been patiently waiting for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight to make its way to Switch 2, and next month’s 18th September launch date is going to be all the sweeter since it also marks the arrival of the Mayhem Collection DLC.

This paid expansion will be available to all those with the Deluxe Edition of the game (now available to pre-order) on launch day, packing in an all-new Arkham story mission starring new playable characters, Joker and Harley Quinn.

The new DLC trailer (above) gives us a taste of this new mission in action, showing the origins of Joker and Harley’s relationship and their eventual escape from the asylum. The base game already pulled in its fair share of Rocksteady’s Arkham comparisons, and this expansion looks to dial the similarities up to 11.

It’s not just a new story mission, mind you. The DLC also includes a fresh ‘Mayhem Mode’ for the new playable characters, setting the pair loose in Gotham City, and a costume ‘Sinister Pack’ for those who want to really let the dark side sing.

Our good friends over at Push Square had a great time with the base game, calling it “some of the best fun you’ll have all year” in their 8/10 review. Let’s hope everything holds up on the Switch 2 version — we’ve certainly waited for long enough!
