Alejandro Balde could leave Barcelona with Manchester United having shown an interest in the left back, according to Nicolo Schira. It is expected that there will be direct talks with his agent, Jorge Mendes, very soon about a potential move for the 22-year-old. Sources told ESPN on Monday that the Red Devils were monitoring Balde’s situation due to concerns that Luke Shaw will not be able to play three games a week in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League. United also enquired about Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall earlier in the transfer window.

– A proposal from Manchester City is coming for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández, Fabrizio Romano reports. It is unknown exactly when the Citizens will make their move for the 25-year-old, but they will be strong in their approach. An agreement regarding personal terms shouldn’t be an issue, especially as the Argentina international has given a green light to proceed. Nicolo Schira adds that Fernández is pushing for the move, while the Citizens are confident of completing a deal for €130m.

– Aston Villa have made an offer for Jean-Philippe Mateta but it falls far below what Crystal Palace want for the striker, according to The Athletic. Villa have been looking for attacking reinforcements due to Ollie Watkins‘ uncertain future, while Tammy Abraham and Brian Madjo are currently both unavailable because of injuries. Villa had also considered making a move for Mateta during the January transfer window and the 29-year-old has been involved in a dispute with Palace regarding the last year of his contract

– Juventus are unimpressed with Randal Kolo Muani‘s performances since his return to the club and are now looking at Atlético Madrid striker Alexander Sørloth, Gazzetta dello Sport reports. The Norway international is being favoured over Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee because it is felt that his characteristics would be a better fit. Nicolas González could be used as part of a deal to bring the costs down, especially as the 28-year-old wants to continue with Atleti following the expiration of his loan.

– AC Milan winger Rafael Leão remains a target for Galatasaray after Aston Villa withdrew their interest, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The Rossoneri won’t budge from their demands of €50m plus another €10m in bonuses for the 27-year-old, though, and Gala are persisting to try to reach an agreement but don’t want to get to certain figures. The Turkish Super Lig club is expected to increase their latest offer for the Portugal international.
