Sega recently revealed it would be adding additional free characters to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, and following the release of “Classic Sonic” the next one is fast approaching.

In case you missed it, it’s Axel from the Crazy Taxi series. This character will be joining the race tomorrow, with his festival running from 27th August until 30th August. Here’s another look at this new racer:

After this, players can look forward to Amigo from Samba De Amigo as the next free character in September 2026. Sega also recently announced a second Season Pass. This will include six new DLC packs, and gets underway with Godzilla and Evangelion content.

Earlier this month, the paid characters Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arrived in CrossWorlds, with Avatar Legends DLC arriving in October 2026.
