So, after upgrading my mattress, I wanted to invest in a bedding refresh- you can guess where I turned. From silk pillowcases to an angelically soft duvet cover, Quince was my one-stop shop for bedding basics and more luxury items, too.

My review of Quince bedding

After placing my order for my full bedding refresh with Quince, I waited for less than a week while packages came streaming in. (They have free shipping on everything!) It seemed as though each item was shipped directly from the factory where it was manufactured, likely part of their model for cutting down on middlemen. After everything had arrived, I unboxed it all and got to work making my bed from the base up. Below are my thoughts after spending a month with my Quince bedding.

Classic Organic Percale Gingham Fitted Sheet Set (Queen, Café) | $75

I love, love, love these sheets. It’s so fun to have them peeking out of my bedding setup. You can style them more traditionally or mix and match them for a quirky aesthetic. The brown color I got is called Café, but it also comes in Blue Fog and Olive. I don’t sleep with a top sheet — who needs it when your duvet cover is so delicate and soft? More on that below! — so I ordered the Queen fitted sheet set, which came with a fitted sheet and 2 standard pillowcases. They’re made with 100% organic cotton that’s OEKO-TEX certified, so it’s completely nontoxic. (And you know how we feel about nontoxic bedding!) If you’re a sheets specs person: The fabric is yarn-dyed and has a 245 thread count. The best part? I have a pretty tall mattress (14”), but probably closer to 15” all told, and these sheets fit right over it with no snug pulling on any side. They look just as good after a wash! They’re breathable, comfortable, and crisp — and I only want to sleep on these from now on.

Organic Airy Gauze Duvet Cover Set (Full/Queen, Mist) | $130

Do you ever purchase something and pat yourself on the back for your great decision? That’s what I did after my first night sleeping under this gauzy duvet cover. It’s woven by a sustainable, third-generation, family-owned business in India from certified organic long-staple cotton that offers quality and durability over time. The duvet is made of four layers of pre-washed cotton gauze, so it’s super soft and breathable as soon as it reaches you. It has a slightly textured look and feel that’s super inviting. It also has my main qualifier for a duvet cover: Corner ties to keep the comforter in place! The full set also comes with two matching shams. The factory that produced this piece also uses renewable and solar energy, recycles water, and upcycles fabric scraps — as you can see in the packaging below. The light blue color I chose, Mist, is currently sold out — so I’d recommend checking out the beautiful selection of colors or their undyed option.

100% Mulberry Silk Pillowcase (Queen, Ivory) | $45 ea.

A silk pillowcase has been floating around at the bottom of my shopping list for years now. After hearing the positive effects of sleeping on silk for fine lines, acne, and bedhead, I’d been wanting to try. Quince offers a fantastic sustainable, 100% organic option that comes in a ton of colors. Not only is Quince’s silk pillowcase nontoxic and organic, but it is also made from mulberry silk, which is the most durable and uniform of all silks. I did notice a significant improvement in my day 2 hair after sleeping on this pillowcase. Plus, it was sooo buttery soft and temperature regulating. If you’ve been considering an upgrade to a silk pillowcase, let this be your sign.

Luxe Goose Down Comforter (Full/Queen, All-Season) | $284

OMG, yes. This was another big winner for me. Quince’s Responsible Down Standard-certified goose down comforter. Goose feathers are softer and fluffier than duck feathers, and their moisture-wicking properties make for a super comfy sleep setup. Goose down is also known for holding its shape for years, especially when compared to synthetic materials. (There’s nothing sadder than a deflated, clumpy comforter!) I chose the all-season option with a medium fill, so I can use it year-round. We’re currently in the midst of a cold winter here in NYC, and it has not disappointed. It keeps me warm to start the night and is breathable enough that I can stay under the covers when the radiator kicks into high gear (as it always does around 2 a.m.!). This comforter uses baffle box construction to keep the fill evenly distributed, and the double-stitched edges add durability. Love this investment piece at a great price.

Premium Down Alternative Pillow (Standard, Medium/Firm) | $40 ea.

This pillow is one of Quince’s best-sellers, and I wanted to try a down alternative, so I went for these pillows. I’ve been sleeping with a Coop pillow for the past year, so I’m accustomed to a denser, more supportive pillow. These from Quince were smaller than expected and felt fluffy, almost buoyant. I slept on one successfully without any neck or back pain, but quickly went back to my more supportive option. I ended up using these as a second pillow while making the bed — and they’re super fluffy, which looks great. I’d be curious to try their goose down pillow and see if it’s just as good as the comforter. I’d recommend these if you’re not fussy about a supportive pillow, or if you need to fill out your made bed with a second stack of pillows.

100% Cotton Pillow Protectors (Standard) | $30 for 2

These are the perfect add-on for a new set of Quince pillows. They’re 100% cotton with a 230 thread count; they’re protective enough while still comfortable to sleep on. (No annoying swishy sound or stiff feeling!) The zip closure is minimal, secure, and easy to slip off so you can regularly wash these covers with the rest of your bedding. These weren’t really a fit for my larger preexisting pillows, but, again, perfect for keeping your standard Quince pillows fresh and clean.

Organic Waterproof Mattress Protector (Queen, Natural) | $82

Okay, this might sound weird, but this mattress protector smelled so good?? I suspect why, but it will remain a mystery to me; here’s what isn’t: This protector has an organic cotton exterior and is nontoxic and protective through and through. Here are the deets: The outer shell is made from 100% natural, undyed organic jersey cotton, and the interior is waterproof non-woven polyurethane for safe protection against fluids. This protector has zero harmful chemicals and is free of vinyl/PVC, phthalates, and latex, so you don’t have to worry about allergies. It fits like a fitted sheet but with a little extra space, accommodating a super deep 16 inches with an elastic enclosure. That’s right, this doesn’t fully zip! It’s a better option for adding protection against liquids over a fully zippable enclosure, rather than as the first line of defense for your mattress.

So, is Quince bedding worth it?

If you’re looking for an economical way to outfit your bedroom, I can’t recommend Quince enough. It was super easy to pick up all the essentials in a single purchase with free shipping — and all of the products really exceeded what their price tag promised.
