During One Piece Day ’26 festivities this weekend, two new movies were revealed: One Piece Film God Valley and One Piece Film Baad. Fans will be able to see both in theaters before the end of the decade.

One Piece Film God Valley will arrive first in summer 2027, and we have a pretty decent idea about what to expect from it. God Valley will be a prequel, adapting a manga arc where we learn more about the infamous God Valley incident. It’s a fascinating corner of One Piece lore that’s ripe for adaptation, so it’s great to see that it is getting an entire movie of its own.

It also fits right into the Elbaph arc, which the anime is currently covering. God Valley’s summer 2027 release window is also perfectly timed, as it should arrive right around when the One Piece manga celebrates its 30th anniversary (it was first published on July 22, 1997).

Then, in 2029, the One Piece anime will celebrate its 30th anniversary (it premiered on Oct. 20, 1999), and the theatrical release of One Piece Film Baad will mark that occasion. We don’t know what Baad will be about right now, but we still have lots of time to learn as it’s three years out. In the meantime, fans will be able to see God Valley in theaters or watch the live-action Netflix show, which cast Emilio Sakraya as Koza, Jamie Ward as Pell, Nabeel Khan as Chaka, and Omid Abtahi as Toto for its third season this weekend.

One Piece Film God Valley comes to Japanese theaters first in summer 2027, while One Piece Film Baad follows in 2029. The official English YouTube channel for One Piece also published a trailer teasing similar release windows, so hopefully the Western release windows don’t lag too far behind.
