The Los Angeles Lakers are in Slovenia for Luka Doncic’s team retreat, where he is flexing his might as the face of the franchise.
Doncic is hosting the team minicamp in his home country. He has spent the entire offseason in Europe as he looks to spend time with his family, and now he has brought the entire roster, other than rookie Cameron Carr, with him over to Europe.

The goal of the trip is to build chemistry on and off the court. The Lakers added a ton of new players, including a new starting center in Walker Kessler, and wings Sandro Mamukelashvili, Quientin Grimes, Zaire Williams, and Matisse Thybulle.
Additionally, there are guards Jaden Hardy and Collin Sexton in the mix, with Kevon Looney being the backup center.

With so many new pieces and without LeBron James as the dominant presence, Doncic put the onus on himself to bring the team together in Slovenia, covering the full expense of the trip.
The team has been in Europe for a couple of days now. Here is what they have gotten up to:

Day 1
The team landed and went to their hotel, fully paid for by Doncic. Once they settled in, Doncic joined them for dinner at Nebo, one of the Lakers star’s favorite spots.
Doncic shared plenty of photos from their dinner, including an adorable picture of him hugging Reaves. For the full breakdown on the day and all of the images, check out LA Sports Report’s very own Noel’s video below.
Day 2
The Lakers put their basketball shoes on for day two, holding a full scrimmage with the whole team playing against each other and together for the first time.
After the workout, the Lakers players signed a ton of autographs.

After their basketball work, they toured Ljubljana Castle, rode a boat that drew more attention from NBA fans in Slovenia, and ended the night with dinner and a visit to the club.
