It’s safe to say that summer is nearly over. In true British form, the temperature has dropped and spells of rain are on the forecast for the foreseeable future. No ease into the next season to give us time to grieve the end of summer, just simply over and done with.

However, I must admit, as much as I love summer, autumn dressing is my favourite. There’s something about it that feels more refined and considered compared to any other season —the layering, textures and colour palettes, it allows us to embrace the best of all seasons. Some days it’s repeating summer staples like flip flops with jeans, others require more layers like a jumper paired over a shirt with a trench on top.

With new season collections beginning to trickle down through our favourite retailers, the early autumn trends are becoming clearer by the minute. While we have already noted the trends on the runways, it’s always nice to have the refresh that it brings when it’s finally time to update our autumn wardrobe.
