The latest from the federal lobbyist registry.
Transportation registrations led the pack this week with 10 per cent of the registrations, as airports, ports and aviation companies sought federal support amid Ottawa’s broader push to build trade infrastructure, accelerate major projects and strengthen Canada’s economic resilience.
New registrants also targeted federal support for critical minerals, data centres, cybersecurity and domestic procurement.
Skyward Wildfire Technologies, registered by Crestview Strategy, is advising the federal government on the company’s Canadian operations and regulatory compliance under the Aeronautics Act, as the wildfire technology company works to deploy its lightning0ignition prevention technology in Canada.
The registration comes as Canada grapples with another severe wildfire season, with more than four million hectares burned across the country so far this year.
BACKGROUND: Wildfire threat to remain elevated across much of Canada into September
Additionally, De Havilland Aircraft, is requesting support in fulfilling procurement activity for De Havilland’s DHC-515 Aerial Fire Fighting Aircraft.
The lobbying also coincides with Emergency Management Minister Eleanor Olszewski’s wildfire update on Tuesday, when she confirmed that the government is working to lease additional aircraft to bolster Canada’s firefighting fleet by the end of the year.
