Gamescom is taking place later this month in Germany, and if you’re a fan of Final Fantasy, you’ll apparently want to mark your calendar.

Square Enix has announced it will be sharing a “new look” at the third chapter Final Fantasy VII Revelation on 25th August 2026 at Opening Night Live. This segment will be presented by game director, Naoki Hamaguchi.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation was officially unveiled at this year’s Summer Game Fest and is the third and final part in the Final Fantasy VII Remake series.

This particular chapter will be a simultaneous release across “all platforms”, including the Switch 2, in Spring 2027. It follows the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Remake Intergrade on the Switch 2 earlier this year.

In some other Gamescom news, Nintendo this week revealed its playable line-up. It will include Switch Sports Resort, Call of Duty, and more.
