Nike Ja 4 ‘Weather Radar’ Release Date JA9745-400

Just four years young, Ja Morant’s Nike signature sneaker line has already had plenty of eye-catching colorways and yet, an upcoming style of the Portland Trail Blazers’ star’s fourth shoe could be a contender for his boldest footwear yet.

New in-hand images shared by @prm.stocks1 show the upcoming Nike Ja 4 “Radar,” which is also being called “Thermal Imagery.” Clad in a multi-color combination of Obsidian/Total Orange/Laser Orange/Black/Racer Blue/Cobalt Bliss, the soon-to-be-released style features a weather radar map graphic across its diamond-quilted upper.

The sneaker’s bold graphic upper is paired with orange branding on the Swoosh, which combines with a TPU Ja-Frame to spell out Morant’s first name in a similar fashion to what was seen on the Nike Ja 3. Two-tone black-and-orange shoelaces add further flair to the look, which uses a toned-down white shade on its tongue logo.

Weather-inspired thermal graphics aren’t new territory for Nike’s basketball shoes. The sportswear brand’s Air Foamposite One sneaker was released in Thermal Map and Weatherman colorways in 2013, while Kevin Durant’s Nike KD 4 Weatherman kicked off the trend in 2011.

Along with the standard Ja 4, Nike has given extra attention to Morant’s line this year. An affordable Morant-branded sneaker, the Twelve Time, will be released in September for $90. And later this year, Morant’s sneakers will be released in high-top form for the first time with the arrival of the Nike Ja 4 High.

The Nike Ja 4 will debut at retail on Aug. 15 in five different colorways, although fans will need to wait a bit longer to get their hands on this Radar colorway. The pair is set to be released in October for an expected retail price of $140, a slight premium from the Ja 4’s standard pricing of $125. The sneaker’s style code is JA9745-400.
