Dave Portnoy’s pro Call of Duty team staff in car crash driving on wrong side of road

Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy was left irate upon hearing his professional Call of Duty team staff drove on the wrong side of the road in the UK, leading to a head-on collision.

Telluride Bush Gaming is a newer name in the competitive Call of Duty space, but with the backing of Barstool personalities like Scump lookalike Connor Mook, all eyes have been on them to kickstart the 2026 season.

After finishing Stage 2 in the Challengers circuit as the top team, and winning $20,000 in the playoffs, the squad has travelled from America to the United Kingdom for CDL Major 2, the latest high-stakes tournament.

Before action got underway, however, disaster struck. Portnoy himself broke the news on social media. He revealed how the group drove on the wrong side of the road and ended up in a head-on collision while in a rental car.

At the time of writing, none of the players on the roster have addressed the situation on social media, indicating they weren’t involved in the accident. Instead, it appeared to be Jersey Jerry in the driver’s seat, and other members of the Barstool squad involved in the esports endeavour.

“You absolutely can’t make this up,” Portnoy said on X (formerly Twitter). Attached was an image of a text from Barstool’s corporate lawyer.

“The Bush guys got in a car accident in the UK,” the lawyer said. “The rental got messed up, but fortunately sounds like everyone’s ok. They hit another car but the driver said she was ok too.”

What led to the accident? Americans not being accustomed to driving on the opposite side of the road in the UK.

“Yes, it was because they were driving on the wrong side of the road (can’t make this up),” the lawyer said.

“The most predictable thing ever from the morons Telluride Bush Gaming,” Portnoy added. “That’s what I get for paying these fools to go to London.”

Sharing further insight from their perspective, Jerry explained how they were heading out for water and groceries for the team. “But before we got to the store, we crashed. Head-on collision.”

What ensued was a hilarious act of bravery, taking the blame on his own so as to not throw totally legitimate employee ‘Miresh’ under the bus. “If you want to punish anyone, punish me,” he told Portnoy.

Ultimately, it appears everyone made it out with no injuries, and all is still on track for the CoD team to compete at the event over the weekend. Miresh will no doubt do a better job of reminding Jerry of the road rules next time they head out.
