Assassins Creed Black Flag Resynced’s Kraken wheel will no longer be “wheely expensive” following the latest update, which will also teach you how to throw cash

Is that a blowpipe on your back or are you just happy to see me. Ah, it isn’t a blowpipe, because you’ve used the latest in an ongoing flow of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced updates to hide your blowpipe so it doesn’t ruin your outfit. No, I don’t want you to throw me some money to make up for that joke not working, now that you’ve actually been through the tutorial for that mechanic and aren’t saving up for an overpriced ship wheel.

Black Flag Resynced’s latest title update, 1.0.6, will deploy these changes and more when it rolls out today, August 4th, at 3PM BST / 10AM EST / 7AM PST. While the ability to hide Kenway’s blowpipe via the inventory if you think he’d look better without it is the main new addition, Ubisoft have also dialled up the number of autosaves the game keeps from 5 to 10, giving you more options if something mucks up and you’re forced to reload. An issue causing PC cutscenes to lock at 30 FPS when graphics settings have been toggled from low to customs should also finally be sorted.

Beyond those, it appears Ubisoft had forgotten to switch on a tutorial for throwing money to distract guards. I assume Spanish and British soldiers across the Caribbean loudly complaining about a lack of tips was what flagged that one. Edward can also now pull up his hood midway through a leap of faith dive again, earning him extra cool points.

Now, a short selection of amusing notes I’ve found while scrolling through the rest of the patch’s contents:

  • Fixed an issue that could occur when players tried to hire dancers while on top of a box.
  • Fixed an issue where Edward wasn’t always turning to look at where he was aiming in a Naval battle.
  • Fixed an issue where the Naval Convoy’s leader could go flying after lowering wanted level or sending it to Kenway’s fleet during Boarding.
  • Fixed an issue where the Kraken wheel cost was listed incorrectly / the Kraken wheel is wheely expensive.
  • Fixed Enemies’ blood coming out from hips instead of chin during the pistol finishing kill.
  • Fixed an issue where Edward could fast travel to the Jackdaw while carrying food, which may cause the food to disappear.

If you’ve yet to see whether you fancy giving remixed pirate’s creed a go, make sure to check out my Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced review. It’s also worth being clued up on the recent union strikes over planned layoffs at Ubisoft Barcelona, one of the studios which made the remake.
