RB Leipzig set to win race for Dortmund- and Barcelona-linked Hoffenheim star

TSG Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani is reportedly on the verge of a move to RB Leipzig.

According to Bild, the 23-year-old is expected to complete his switch to Die Roten Bullen before the end of the month.

Leipzig are planning to trigger the €30 million release clause in Asllani’s contract, which runs until 2029.

Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have also been mentioned as suitors for the forward.

However, the Catalan giants reportedly only saw Asllani as a backup to their primary target, Atlético Madrid striker Julián Álvarez, while Dortmund would need to free up space in both their squad and wage budget before pursuing a move for the striker.

As a result, Leipzig appear set to win the race for one of the Bundesliga’s most highly-rated young attackers.
