I got arrested at the Canadian border and…

methademic asked:

I got arrested at the Canadian border and technically not deported (willfully withdrew my application to leave which means I’m not banned from the country for a year) in very large part because I’m broke and didn’t have a return ticket. and they literally directly told me that they don’t want people gaining residency and taking services from real Canadians they went on about this it’s literal policy to deny people access to the country for the crime of being broke and not having a return ticket. does being a permanent resident not Make you a real Canadian which is why you get access to those social services. or are we just racist. we’re just racist. cool. as an ethnic Mexican I unironically think it would be easier to cross the US Mexico border than for a broke USAmerican to come into the glorious Canadias. unlimited genocide on the Canadian border agency. u would not believe how insane certain Canadians are about rehashing Reaganist welfare queen shit about broke USAmericans stealing their glorious welfare. I legitimately experience less prejudice for being mestizo in the US than I do for being poor and USAmerican in the Great Canadias it’s actually fucking insane
