Riders Ready! MAVRIX 1.0 Launches Today, With New Head-to-Head Multiplayer Mode

Summary

  • The full 1.0 release of MAVRIX arrives today, including a brand new head-to-head multiplayer mode.
  • Compete directly against multiple riders on racetracks and slopestyle trails, with race commentary from legendary Red Bull commentator Rob Warner.
  • MAVRIX is available on XBOX Series X|S, and arrives Day One with XBOX Game Pass.

The huge, open world of MAVRIX spans 100 square kilometres, with over 30 official trails, technical challenges and freeride. Trails are split into racetracks where the fastest time wins, and slopestyle trails on which riders are scored for stomping big tricks. Both trail types have been designed around their real-world mountain bike disciplines.

During early access, from July 2025 to July 2026, players competed individually, with times and scores ranked on global leaderboards. For the 1.0 launch of MAVRIX however, head-to-head competition comes to life.

In head-to-head mode, up to 5 riders matchmake to any trail. Friends can join together at the start of a trail, or accept invites from other players ready to take on this ultimate format! For racing, first to the bottom wins, with bar-to-bar action guaranteed as players view the race in first person,  third person or even by taking advantage of the rear facing camera.

Two bike types are available, downhill and enduro. Downhill bikes have more suspension, can deal with bigger impacts and have more stability at high speeds. Enduro bikes, due to their lighter weight, have superior acceleration and can hop over larger obstacles. Selected the correct bike for a particular trail is crucial, so choose carefully!

Your position in the race is shown live, combined with full race commentary. Crashing out doesn’t end the race, but you’ll restart from the previous checkpoint. Winning runs are often the cleanest runs!

In Slopestyle head-to-head, the trial is split up into sectors and the player that wins the most sectors is crowned champion. All players start each sector at the same time, providing a front row seat to see what tricks the other competitors are pulling off. Legendary Red Bull commentator Rob Warner provides live updates, as overtakes and crashes alter the standings throughout the races, and clean landings from huge combos mix up the slopestyle rankings.

During Early Access, it was clear that our community loved doing huge tricks together and figuring out the best lines to maximise scores on slopestyle trails. We’re so excited to create head-to-head slopestyle as a dedicated feature for our players. It truly captures to essence of mountain biking and it’s bound to be a hit for new MAVRIX players too.

As part of this 1.0 update, MAVRIX Cups will now run every weekend, providing players with the ultimate test. Where head-to-head provides intense battles, MAVRIX Cups are standalone events with their own exclusive leaderboard. These Cup events, for both racing and slopestyle, have rare cosmetic prizes only obtainable through MAVRIX Cup results!

Are you ready to gear up and race through the ranks? MAVRIX 1.0 arrives today for XBOX Series X|S, and is available via XBOX Game Pass. Show the mountains what you’re made of!
