Two deaths at McTavish Lake, north of La Ronge, are suspected to be wildlife-related, the Saskatchewan government says.

RCMP received a call about the incident Wednesday, and investigating officers found two bodies, the province’s Ministry of Community Safety said in a news release Thursday.

The ministry did not say who the people were, how they died, or what kind of animal or animals is believed to be responsible for the deaths.

Conservation officers are trying to identify and find the animal or animals involved.

The province advised residents, cabin owners, visitors and anyone else in the area to be cautious.

The Conservation Officer Service’s wildlife human attack response team is investigating, along with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service and RCMP.
