“We think of this volatility as extreme now, but this is the new normal,” said Silje Eriksen Holmen, head of fundamentals and hydrology at Volt Power Analytics. “When you have a heat wave with little wind, this is the hardest combination because you need the most power just exactly when your two biggest forces are weakest.”
