Zendaya Is a Winged Goddess at ‘The Odyssey’ New York Premiere

Zendaya channeled Nike of Samothrace in a dramatic draped white gown, complete with wings, at the New York premiere of “The Odyssey” on Tuesday night.

For the grand finale of the blockbuster film’s press tour, Law Roach styled the actress in a Matières Fécales gown, with a sculptural and swirling bodice and a train that was intentionally tattered. The garment featured a slit up the side that created extra drama, allowing for a subtle peekaboo effect. Angel wings adorned the actress’ back.

The dress was first seen on the Matières Fécales runway in Paris at the brand’s March 2025 show. For Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran, best known as the creative entity Matières Fécales, the past year has been a watershed moment. “To start a year ago with just an idea — we built the first collection in a year and a half — just us doing our thing and then launching it,” Bhaskaran told WWD in March. “To now see people wearing the pieces, that’s just so new for us, it’s been very exciting.”

There’s no better model than Zendaya, who continues to stand in a league of her own on the red carpet.

In contrast to her bold look Tuesday night, Zendaya kept her jewelry subdued, opting for shimmering dangling earrings from Chopard with gold hardware.

Keeping with the all-white theme, “The Drama” actress stepped into a pair of white pumps with pointed toes and inverted heels that mimicked the curvature of the wings on her back.

The day before the film’s New York premiere, Zendaya was spotted in the Big Apple channeling her character Athena from “The Odyssey” with a pair of vintage Sophia Webster gladiator sandals on foot — helping to cement the return of the long-standing shoe style. The Grecian silhouette has since made a resurgance thanks to the “Euphoria” star.
