A week ago, the Brazilian National Team lost to Norway 2-1 and was knocked out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the round of 16.

The result marked one of the worst campaigns in the Canarinho’s history in the tournament: 11th place overall.

The early exit also meant the (likely) end of an era with the national team for a number of players, such as goalkeeper Alisson, full-back Danilo, center-back Marquinhos, defensive midfielder Casemiro, and forward Neymar. 

Most of the called-up players, who play in Europe, flew straight from the United States to their clubs’ vacation breaks.

A few, however, play for Brazilian teams. The national league, in fact, resumes its regular schedule this coming Thursday (16), with Botafogo hosting Santos.

Santos, in fact, allowed Neymar a few days off before he returns to work at the club, since he is under contract until the end of December 2026.

The forward then decided to take part in a poker tournament in the United States, with prize money estimated at 10,000 dollars (around R$ 51,100).
