I have often said that I feel smarter every time I listen to Carney explain something important. I don’t agree with every position he takes, but its clear that he is thoughtful and purposeful, not knee-jerk and emotional.
Some examples from his Saudi Arabia trip:
“Lecturing countries from afar is satisfying but ineffective.”
“This isn’t just Flavour of the Month”
“We are calibrating engagement”
I’m reading some pointless carping about Carney visiting “Prince Bonesaw” in Saudi Arabia because I guess this is still a thing.
Paul Wells has a more useful comment about the Saudi Arabia trip. He concludes:
…What’s bracing, if not unnerving, about asking the world to take a bet on Canada is that ultimately it will be the world’s decision. Sooner or later everyone visits Jeddah, even a Canadian prime minister. They all make a pitch. Carney’s visit generated a lot of interest this week in Jeddah. Soon we will see how many zeros come at the end of that.
Also, I enjoy Carney’s sense of humour:
On a side note, can you imagine how weak and divided Canada would be now if Poilievre had won in 2025?
This is the kind of poor judgement he shows when he has a national stage:
I know there are progressives across Canada who don’t like Carney anymore, and don’t support his Liberal government. I see more press sniping about him too.
But the choice we had in 2025 was between Carney and Poilievre. Period. There was no other choice. And Carney was clearly the outstanding choice anyway. I think he still is.
Trudeau gets it “Yeah, this is what we’ve been telling you”
On another side note, here’s a new Trudeau cameo!
Next, a little collection of funny posts about Trump:
He fell asleep in a meeting with Turkish President Erdogan, referred to Iran as the “Islamic Republic of Japan”, TikTok as “Tic Tac”, President Zelensky as “President Putin” & once again demanded the U.S. be given control of Greenland.
He’s much less dangerous while sleeping than when he’s awake. 💤[image or embed]

So we’re bombing the f out of Iran again, and people are wondering if it’s to distract from a missed Epstein file release deadline or distract from Belgium humiliating USA at sportsball.
HELL REALITY.

Even Fox News is getting just a teensy impatient with Trump’s incompetence.
Yeah, we know. We’ve been saying that for 18 months.

So Trump was terrified that Iran would shoot down his new plane when it took off from Türkiye after the NATO summit. So they switched in the older fortified Air Force One to transport him instead. But Trump was embarrassed about being afraid of Iran. So he had to pretend he had actually wanted his plane to fly empty to England, so troops there could tour it. Yeah, sure.
Speaking of England, I too would love to see Britain vote again for Boaty McBoatface

FIFA has banned England defender Jarell Quansah for two matches over his red card against Mexico.
I guess we get the Prime Minister, the King, the Lord Mayor of London and Liz Truss to call them up to overturn it.
That’s how it works now, right?
