“Bonnie’s family and team are heartbroken to announce that Bonnie unexpectedly passed away last night in hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for,” a statement said on her official social media accounts.
The raspy-voiced Welsh singer’s other hits include “Holding on for a Hero” and “It’s a Heartache.”

Tyler emerged from a monthlong coma in June but remained “very unwell” and in intensive care, her family said at the time.
The daughter of a Welsh coal miner, Tyler found global fame and lived with her husband, Robert Sullivan, in Faro, a city in southern Portugal.
