
At least eight people, including four children, were shot late Saturday night in Brooklyn’s Coney Island, leaving one woman in critical condition.

Officers responded to reports of multiple people shot at about 10:37 p.m., according to a New York Police Department statement. Upon arrival, eight victims suffering from gunshot wounds were found at the scene and were transported to nearby hospitals.
The victims range in age from 6 to 37. Seven people are in stable condition, while a 21-year-old woman remains in critical condition after being shot in the chest, the police department said.
A 6-year-old boy was shot in the stomach, a 7-year-old boy was shot in both legs, a 12-year-old boy was shot in the leg and a 14-year-old boy was shot in the thigh, according to the statement.
A firearm was recovered at the scene. No arrests have been made, with investigators actively looking to identify any persons of interest, it added.
