It’s finally Fourth of July weekend. In a typical year, we’d all be talking about what cool pieces to pack for the holiday away or the perfect staycation. This year, though, there’s only one thing people are discussing: Taylor Swift.
Rumors have been swirling that she and Travis Kelce could be getting married in the coming days in New York City. While nothing has been confirmed, speculation has intensified with the circulation of paparazzi photos showing the two in NYC, along with many of their friends, including Dua Lipa and Gigi Hadid. Add in the buzz surrounding activity at Madison Square Garden, and it’s easy to see why the internet is in a frenzy.
If the rumors are true, one question immediately comes to mind: What is Taylor going to wear? One thing feels almost certain—Taylor loves an outfit change, so we can expect more than one memorable look. But the wedding gown? That’s the fashion mystery everyone is trying to solve. After all, the main ceremony look is the defining fashion moment of a wedding.
All that in mind, I asked my fellow editors to weigh in with their predictions: Which designer do they think Taylor will choose to say “I do”? Which silhouette will she gravitate toward? And what details would make the dress unmistakably Taylor? Keep scrolling to hear their thoughts.
“My best guess is that she’ll wear Dior. She’s been wearing lots of Jonathan Anderson’s new pieces lately. As for the style of dress, I’m betting on a strapless princessy dress with a long train and some kind of embellishment like lace or floral embroidery—basically, the dress she wears in the ‘I Bet You Think About Me’ music video!”

“I was going to say the exact same thing as Erin—a Dior strapless princess dress—so I think we may be on to something. Another guess I would’ve made is Ralph Lauren, but it’s unlikely, since that’s what her BFF Selena Gomez wore for her wedding. My wild-card picks would be a dramatic Schiaparelli creation or a romantic, ethereal Valentino one, but my money is on Dior.”

“I’m torn on whether this might just be a PR stunt and not her actual wedding… That being said, if it is her wedding, I could see her wearing Vivienne Westwood. My first guess would be a custom strapless princess ball gown, but I could also see her choosing something very traditional and classic like Ralph Lauren—or something more ethereal with floral appliqués.”

“I’ve been hearing a lot of speculation about Taylor going with a legacy house—either Dior, given her recent sporting of the brand in recent weeks, or a brand like Schiaparelli, who’s designed bridal-esque red carpet gowns for her before. However, I think Taylor is actually going to do the complete opposite and go with a fairytale gown from a heritage bridal label. Something incredibly traditional, romantic, and playing into the theme of the perfect real-life love story she and Travis Kelce have found themselves the protagonists of. If I had to place a bet on a certain label or designer, I’d put money on Taylor wearing something from Monique Lhuillier, Oscar de la Renta, Elie Saab, or Vera Wang, all brands whose history and heritage of dressing people on their big, special days feel ever so important. I’m picturing something with a bit of volume, a floral appliqué, and a sweetheart neckline, an ode to her teenage days when romantic fantasies played a big role in her storytelling and songwriting. Kind of like the older, cooler version of the dress in the ‘Love Story’ music video.”
