A second Delta One Lounge is set to open at
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as the SkyTeam airline builds on the existing club it opened in 2024 in Terminal 3. This space has been kept quiet and has only really been made public in the last few weeks. A Terminal 2 Sky Club is also on the cards, with a planned opening next year.
Aviation insider, JonNYC, posted on X that the airline has been inviting employees to test out and try the new lounge, ensuring that the menu was up to its expected service level. The club is located in Terminal 2 and will support the airlines’ services from gates 20 to 28. These gates are still accessible from Terminal 3, and Delta is reusing a former lounge space.
A Second Delta One Lounge At Los Angeles Will Open Soon
As described by Gary Leff from A View From The Wing, the airline is using the former lounge space and will be reworking space in the terminal to build a more comprehensive lounge space by 2028. The new space, paired with the existing clubin T2, will provide around 20,000 square feet of lounge space.
Delta will be hoping that the additional space will continue to build on the airline’s appeal for business and premium travelers, where Delta continues to be one of the largest carriers for seats. VFTW, with data from Cirium, analysed the numbers and showed that DL will serve a total of 9,512 flights in the next month, providing more than 1.5 million seats.
This places Delta marginally ahead of the second largest legacy carriers,
American Airlines (with 8,941 flights, 1.36 million seats), and
United Airlines (8,696 flights, 1.45 million seats).
