Alaska Airlines is celebrating the completion of free onboard Starlink-powered WiFi across its entire regional fleet . The airline now sees more than 150 of its aircraft equipped with T-Mobile’s lightning-fast onboard WiFi, and puts it ahead of its connectivity schedule. This positions the carrier and its sister brand, Hawaiian Airlines, among the first to offer free WiFi across the majority of their fleets .
Passengers can access the new WiFi by being an Atmos Rewards member, which is the frequent-flier program shared across both airlines. Connectivity is handled automatically through an interface where new guests can sign up and existing members can sign in.
WiFi Available Across The Entire Regional Fleet
Hawaiian was the first major U.S. carrier to bring Starlink to the skies; however, Alaska was the first US carrier to have WiFi across its entire regional fleet. Alaska now shifts its focus to the mainline and widebody fleet, as the airline equips more aircraft with connectivity.
Guests with upcoming flights on either Alaska or Hawaiian can check WiFi progress on the airline’s website, and Starlink connectivity via T-Mobile can offer faster-than-usual speeds in the air, allowing guests to stream, browse, or scroll without major issues. This is all part of the airline’s wider evolution as a premium carrier and keeps the guest experience front of mind. Senior Vice President of Fleet, Products, and Guest Experience at Alaska, Shane Jones, spoke about the rollout.
“For years, T-Mobile has played a key role in keeping our guests connected, and we’re proud to now offer Starlink, the fastest Wi-Fi in the sky, to Atmos members for free, made possible through our work with T-Mobile. We’ve seen an overwhelmingly positive response from our guests, and we couldn’t have done it without T-Mobile as we continue to raise the bar for the experience across Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.”
More Starlink Equipped Departures Coming Soon
As the airline now focuses on its mainline services, more aircraft are expected to be fully equipped with Starlink connectivity this year. The airline hopes to have its entire widebody fleet completed by the end of the fall and operate more Starlink-equipped flights from major airports such as Honolulu International Airport (HNL), Portland International Airport (PDX),
San Diego International Airport (SAN), and
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), more than any other carrier.
The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which currently operates between Seattle and
Incheon International Airport (ICN), Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO),
London Heathrow Airport (LHR) and
Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT), is expected to be completed soon, making it even easier to stay connected on the airline’s long-haul flights to both Asia and Europe. The rest of the mainline fleet is expected to be fully connected by the end of 2027.
Select flights from June, and all flights from July will require all members who wish to access Starlink to be Atmos rewards members. To sign up, you can do so either onboard or before your flight. Joining the program is free, and by becoming a member, you will be eligible for gate-to-gate connectivity.

“The Default”: Alaska Airlines Eyes Interisland Boeing 737s To Replace Hawaiian’s Aging 717s
Other aircraft, such as the Airbus A220 and the Embraer E195-E2, have also emerged as potential candidates.
How To Connect To Alaska Starlink WiFi
The airline has made it relatively simple to be able to access the WiFi portal, and guests can sign up or sign in with just a few taps. The service offered via T-Mobile enables guests to stream live sports, movies, and shows via Starlink, browse the internet, play games, or send messages to those elsewhere.
The service is absolutely free, and costs nothing for passengers to connect, as long as they are Atmos Rewards members. Passengers traveling with children under 18 can either sign up or sign in their children to Atmos, or access WiFi by entering their reservation details.
Guests can expect connection speeds of around 500 Mbps, which is about seven times faster than legacy in-flight internet elsewhere. All Alaska-branded Embraer E175s are equipped with Starlink, and installation is already underway for the mainline fleet, including its 737s and 787-9s.
