14 Hours Lying Flat: United Polaris Passenger Pays $7,400, Gets Just $500 For Broken Seat



A United Airlines passenger has recounted her experience of flying in a faulty Polaris seat with the Star Alliance carrier last October. The woman, named Cathy, purchased two business class (Polaris) seats to Beijing – the 2nd ticket for her adult daughter.

Cathy was unfortunately forced to sit in a broken seat for the entire journey despite paying $7,388 per ticket. United’s compensation offer after the passenger complained? $650 in vouchers.
