EPL Teams Defy Napoli and Inter for Udinese Talent

Napoli and Intermoved early for Arthur Atta, while Atalanta joined them more recently, but Udinese aren’t necessarily in a hurry to sell him this summer. Plus, he’s drawing significant interest from abroad and the Premier League in particular, Messaggero Veneto reports.

The Friuliani are demanding €40M for their starlet. Their high asking price is fueled by the fact that Bournemouth, Brighton, and Newcastle United are keen on him. The Bianconeri haven’t decided whether to cash in on him this summer or wait for another year so he can bloom further. He recorded five goals and three assists in the last campaign, his first Serie A one during which he had a starring role.

Napoli were active on Atta before their coaching change, while Inter probed him as a possible fallback for Manu Koné and Curtis Jones but didn’t go past an initial inquiry. Atalanta did a little more, as Maurizio Sarri is searching for gifted box-to-box midfielders. However, his valuation might be prohibitive for them.

According to Fabrizio Romano (via SOSFanta), the Partenopei covet Adrien Rabiot in what would be yet another reunion with Massimiliano Allegri, but Milan haven’t made any decision regarding his exit at this stage.

Our Take on Napoli, Inter, and Atalanta Eyeing Atta

It’s the right window to snare him before he makes the final leap and becomes crazy expensive, as he’s not super young but hasn’t played at a high level for very long yet, but his valuation is already high. It’d make sense for Udinese to hold onto him for another year, but they tend to strike when the iron is hot. He easily fits any side using a three-man midfield looking for some class and creativity.
