VANCOUVER — The Socceroos have secured their first FIFA World Cup opening-game win since the “Golden Generation” of 2006.

Tony Popovic’s side shocked Türkiye 2-0 at BC Place in Vancouver, Canada, on Saturday, moving atop Group D alongside the United States.
