New Balance’s hit low-profile 204L sneaker continues to get new seasonal updates as we approach the official start of summer. In addition to a mostly sold-out collaboration with Japanese fashion label Auralee, the Boston-based sportswear company has just issued new in-line styles of the popular model.

A total of five fresh New Balance 204L styles have just been released in a variety of colorways and material combinations. Available now from the brand’s e-commerce store and select retailers are just-released 204L looks in Sea Salt/Bone/Pink Eraser (style code U204LSC), Silver Moss/Lone Star Gray/Bayberry (style code U204LSED), Truffle Salt/Horizon Gray/Silver Metallic (style code U204LPP), Linen/Oxford Blue (style code U204L6KQ) and Quicksand/Bark (style code U204LFSP). 

While New Balance’s 204L releases are often grouped together with similar material makeups and color choices, the latest five looks all take distinctly different approaches to updating the slim-soled sneaker. 

The most summer-appropriate styles of the bunch include the Truffle Salt/Horizon Gray/Silver Metallic and Linen/Oxford Blue makeups. Both pairs use breathable bases, with the Truffle Salt version opting for a wide-gauge mesh, metallic overlays and a gum rubber outsole. The Linen pair is a bit more traditional in terms of 204L styles, mixing a gradient blue mesh base with soft suede overlays.

The remaining three 204L styles use mostly suede builds, appearing in Sea Salt/Bone/Pink Eraser, Silver Moss/Lone Star Gray/Bayberry and Quicksand/Bark. The Sea Salt variation features a two-tone upper which is contrasted with bright pink panel edges. Meanwhile, the Silver Moss pair takes on a stormy look that’s well-suited for late summer nights, while the Quicksand variation does its best wheat work boot impression for a look that will transition seamlessly into fall.
