Those passengers traveling to Tuxtla Gutiérrez from Houston will be onboard the airline’s E175 operated by SkyWest. This aircraft can seat between 70 and 76 passengers across United First, Economy Plus, and Economy. All seats offer WiFi connectivity, and personal entertainment can be accessed on your personal device.

United’s return to Tuxtla Gutiérrez will be the only international route from the Mexican airport. The airport otherwise is dominated by domestic operations, with the largest airline by number of routes served being that of low-cost carrier Viva Aerobus. Viva flies non-stop to Cancún, Guadalajara, Mérida, Mexico City–Benito Juárez, Mexico City–Felipe Ángeles, Monterrey, and Tijuana.

Tuxtla Gutiérrez’s longest domestic route is to Tijuana International Airport (TIJ), covering a distance of 1,858 miles (2,990 km), meaning that this domestic flight is actually further in distance than United’s new international service at 907 miles (1,459 km).
