Naruto fans have a lot to look forward to as the franchise celebrates its 25th anniversary

The Naruto anime will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2027, and TV Tokyo has teased big plans for the franchise across both television and gaming to mark the occasion.

Game Rant spotted and translated a comment made during an investor Q&A following TV Tokyo’s latest financial results briefing.”We see the 25th anniversary [Naruto’s] as the beginning of a new stage, and we have several projects planned to capture that. New projects, including videos and games developed with new partners, are planned for 2027 and beyond,” TV Tokyo explained. This reflects comments managing director Koichi Komaru made in the financial results briefing about how “we aim to build global momentum for the 25th anniversary.”

The recommitment to Naruto is notable for TV Tokyo, as the franchise is currently in a lull. The anime Naruto: Shippuden wrapped up in 2017, and since then, the franchise has mostly focused on Boruto. The last video game related to this franchise was Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections in 2026. As such, Naruto does feel primed for a massive revival across both television and video games.

Unfortunately, TV Tokyo did not provide much more details on the new projects. Hopefully, Naruto fans can get some new animated content, even if it’s just a new short like My Hero Academia’s upcoming I am a hero too special. Similarly, it has been a long time since there has been a great new Naruto video game. If this series could finally get another game on the level of Dragon Ball FighterZ or the classic Ultimate Ninja Storm titles, fans would be very happy.

Hopefully, we don’t have to wait much longer for TV Tokyo to fully detail its plans for Naruto’s 25th anniversary in 2027. If we’re lucky, maybe a new Naruto game could appear at one of the many showcases taking place this summer.
