Where to find the statue heads in Mina the Hollower

Finding statue heads in Mina the Hollower, and using them to restore headless statues, is a necessary activity if you’d like to clear the Queensbury Crypt. While fixing the four headless statues inside the Crypt is mandatory, you can find an additional and optional headless statue on Mourner’s Mile. If you’d like a spark container upgrade, be sure to find the statue’s missing head.

Here’s where to find every statue head location in Mina the Hollower and restore the headless statues.

How to restore headless statues in Mina the Hollower

You will find a total of five headless statues in and around the Queensbury Crypt, which means there are five missing statue heads to be found. Restoring a headless statue will open a new path.

Before we get to the statue head locations, there are a few things you should know about restoring headless statues. Firstly, to pick up a statue head, simply burrow underneath. Second, while carrying the statue’s head, beware that an angry green spirit will chase and attack you. Use the interaction button while standing in front of a headless statue (holding its head, of course) to restore it.

Here are a few tips for carrying statue heads:

  • You can’t burrow while carrying a statue head, but you can jump.
  • You can’t use ropes while carrying a statue head.
  • You can throw the head across gaps. It reaches quite far, about four tiles, but don’t take any risks.
  • If the head clashes with a floating object, it falls down — so beware of floating candles!
  • Upon entering a chamber with enemies, drop the head in a safe spot, dispose of the enemies, then pick it up again.
  • You can also throw a statue head at enemies to deal damage, but be careful around gaps.
  • If a statue head falls through a gap, it respawns in its original location.
  • The green spirit won’t bother you if you aren’t carrying the head, so drop it if you need some respite.

Statue head location #1: Mourner’s Mile

The first headless statue in Mina the Hollower is located on the Mourner’s Mile: Knight’s Rest. You will reach this area after you’ve made your way through the Eastern Heath: Grassland (the grassy region just east of Ossex). To restore this headless statue, you must have two kears (keys) on hand and clear the Queensbury Crypt, which means that, for now, you should forget about the statue and continue north, deeper into Mourner’s Mile. The entrance to the Queensbury Crypt is in the northeast.

Once you’ve cleared the Queensbury Crypt, defeated its boss, and repaired the Spark Generator, exit the crypt grounds to the south. Inside the Mourner’s Mile: Tower Tunnel, take the stairs on the south side of the room, and you will find yourself back in Knight’s Rest. Step onto the pressure plate to remove the spikes, then burrow to pass through the blue tunnel leading north.

Spend two kears to open the two locks, then use the rope to reach the statue head. If you don’t have enough kears, return to Ossex and buy some at the Kear Institute in the City Center.

To bring the statue head to its statue, take it to the southwest exit, then southeast, and finally ride the platform and hop over to the stairs in the southwest. When you’ve restored the statue, exit to the northwest to find a treasure chest with a spark container upgrade.

Statue head location #2: Queensbury Crypt: Entryway

This is the second headless statue in Mina the Hollower, but the first to be restored. You will find it at the end of the Queensbury Crypt: Entryway, next to the spiky blockade. Luckily, the statue head is in the same room, on the right side.

Statue head location #3: Queensbury Crypt: Statue Head Hall (west)

Further north, another two headless statues flank a blocked pathway. To find the first statue head, take the path to the west. You’ll need to continue north, while also avoiding arrows and jumping across platforms until you reach the statue head at the very top. We recommend defeating all of the minor enemies first, as you’ll need to carry the head back the way you came.

Statue head location #4: Queensbury Crypt: Statue Head Hall (east)

To find the fourth statue head, take the path to the east, then go north. Beware that the porous tiles will disappear when you step on them (you can cross once), and the purple demolition roller will be able to reach the far left side of the room once you pick up the statue head.

Statue head location #5: Queensbury Crypt: Ancestral Chamber

The final headless statue is found in the empty chamber in the northernmost part of the Queensbury Crypt. This headless statue is far larger than the previous ones. To find the statue head, return to the room you came from, to the south. See the porous stone on the left wall? Break the wall with an attack, and you’ll find a grey statue head.

Bring it to the tomb in the northern chamber to start the Duchess boss fight.
