This week’s roundup for staffing changes on Parliament Hill.
We start this week’s Hill Movers with a look at Industry Minister Mélanie Joly’s office.

Udita Samuel is now the deputy chief of staff to Joly.
“Looking forward to working closely with Paul Moen, Ministerial staff, and the incredible professionals at Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada,” Samuel wrote in a post on LinkedIn.
Before joining ISED, Samuel served as an advisor and deputy director of operation and outreach for the Prime Minister’s office between 2022 to 2024.
Samuel also held positions at Canadian Heritage and Employment and Social Development Canada.

Over at the Secretary of State for Defence Procurement, Sofiya Sapeha is now the press secretary to Stephen Fuhr.
“I am looking forward to supporting Secretary of State Fuhr and the Defence Investment Agency in this pivotal moment for defence procurement in Canada,” Sapeha wrote in a post on LinkedIn.
Before joining Fuhr’s office, Sapeha served as the press secretary and issues and parliamentary advisor for Finances Canada. Sapeha also spent four years with the Senate of Canada from 2021 to 2025.
