Liverpool FC Players to Star in Tommy Hilfiger Summer Ad Campaign

With World Cup fever intensifying, Tommy Hilfiger has turned to the Liverpool FC players to appear in his newest campaign.

The designer has selected some of the team’s most recognizable players — Dominik Szoboszlai, Cody Gakpo, Alexis Mac Allister, Alexander Isak, Virgil van Dijk, Florian Wirtz, Ibrahima Konaté, Ryan Gravenberch, Joe Gomez and Giovanni Leoni — and dressed them in pieces from his summer collection.

The campaign features the players in a series of scenes shot by Alisdair McLellan near Anfield Stadium, where the team plays its games in Liverpool in the U.K., including portraits and team arrival moments.

“I’ve always seen sport as one of the most powerful cultural languages — it connects people through identity, emotion and self-expression,” Hilfiger said. “What excites me about football today is how personal style has become part of that conversation. This campaign captures Liverpool FC players bringing our Tommy icons into a new era of athlete influence and modern dressing.”

Each player brings a unique point of view to modern prep by the pieces they selected for their campaign shots. For example, Szoboszlai and Gakpo opted for a sartorial take on tunnel walk style with tailored pieces, while Mac Allister and Isak went for a more casual approach with cable-knit polos and chinos. Each look is anchored in the brand’s signature red, white and blue palette, with a subtle nod to nautical references in Breton stripes and maritime-inspired outerwear.

The campaign will be running globally on social, paid media, CRM, e-commerce and out-of-home channels as well as through wholesale and retail stores. The summer collection price range is from $24.50 to $699.

In January, Tommy Hilfiger, which is a division of PVH Corp., signed a deal with the Liverpool FC men’s and women’s teams — the brand’s first soccer partnership — that includes a series of capsules as well as global campaigns.

The Liverpool deal is just one of the company’s sports-related partnerships. It has sponsored Formula 1 teams since the 1990s and currently sponsors the Cadillac Formula 1 Team and dresses its drivers, Valtteri Bottas and Checo Pérez. It also has a deal with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce where the Super Bowl champ, podcaster and fiancé of Taylor Swift serves as a global brand ambassador and creative collaborator.
