GOG JRPG Sale offers massive discounts on Final Fantasy, Romancing SaGa and more

It’s a great time to be a PC gamer whose primary gaming storefront is GOG, particularly if you’re a fan of Japanese role-playing games. Head on over to GOG now, and you’ll see that the storefront is offering some steep discounts on JRPGs.

The low prices on some of the greatest JRPGs are due to the storefront celebrating the Mana franchise making its debut on GOG, with Square Enix’s 2020 HD remaster The Legends of Mana and the 2021 release of Trials of Mana. The two aforementioned games are also included in the sale, at 60% and 70% off, respectively.

While originally a side-story spin-off to Square’s Final Fantasy, the Mana franchise became its own thing with Secret of Mana, its second installment. Though GOG’s selection focuses on more recent titles, both games, and especially The Legends of Mana, are a great starting point for new fans.

However, as mentioned above, the main reason to celebrate the Mana franchise’s debut is the hefty discounts on a variety of fantastic JRPGs. We’ve listed a handful below that deserve your time and, if you’re so inclined, your money.

There are plenty of Final Fantasy games involved in the GOG sale, but you certainly can’t go wrong with either Final Fantasy 7 or Final Fantasy 8 Remastered. The former remains such a popular pick among Final Fantasy fans that it even has its own remake, whereas the latter features an iconic and beloved cast of characters that’s still regularly discussed today.

If you’re looking for something different from Final Fantasy, however, Romancing SaGa is the way to go. The franchise prioritizes non-linear and often emergent gameplay, with the remasters and later games adopting far more modern features (such as new game plus) to entice players into yet another playthrough.

GOG JRPG sale has an abundance of phenomenal JRPGs on offer. So run, don’t walk, to that sale and grab the games that speak to you before the discounts end on June 8.
