Minister Anand to meet with Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yi


May 22, 2026 – Ottawa, Ontario – Global Affairs Canada

The Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will welcome His Excellency Wang Yi, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, to Canada on May 28. This will be the first bilateral visit to Canada from a Chinese Foreign Affairs Minister since June 2016.

The ministers will meet in Ottawa to advance pragmatic engagement and the implementation of the updated Canada-China Strategic Partnership, including on trade and investment, global security, as well as respective bilateral issues.
