S&P/TSX up more than 300 points in late morning trade, U.S. markets also up



TORONTO — Markets in Toronto and New York were trading in the green on Wednesday morning as oil prices fell.
The S&P/TSX composite index was up 361.45 points at 34,102.69.
In New York, the Dow Jones industrial average was up 373.25 at 49,737.

TORONTO — Markets in Toronto and New York were trading in the green on Wednesday morning as oil prices fell.

The S&P/TSX composite index was up 361.45 points at 34,102.69.

In New York, the Dow Jones industrial average was up 373.25 at 49,737.13. The S&P 500 index was up 58.02 points at 7,411.63, while the Nasdaq composite was up 294.60 points at 26,165.30.

The Canadian dollar traded for 72.77 cents US, compared with 72.69 cents US on Tuesday.

The July crude oil contract was down US$3.67 at US$100.48 per barrel.

The June gold contract was down US$26.40 at US$4,537.60 an ounce.
