Tilda Swinton to Perform at Dom Pérignon Event in Guggenheim Bilbao

Dom Pérignon has unveiled its latest Révélations event as an ongoing dialogue with actress and artist Tilda Swinton at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain.

As part of the event, Swinton will give an original performance, titled “House of Gesture,” designed by French fashion historian and curator Olivier Saillard. Inspired by the LVMH Moët Hennessy-owned French Champagne maison, the performance explores gesture, presence and transformation. Building off her previous works, Swinton’s latest will allow the audience to travel throughout space and time as a release of emotions.

“With performance, I like to create a space where something can occur.  The experience of a great Champagne has much in common with this idea. Both are rooted in space and presence, not representation,” said Swinton in a statement first seen by WWD.

Inspired by Dom Pérignon’s relationship with “place,” the brand said that its vintages serve as the crossroads between space and time — as “assemblages of hundreds of ‘places’ from its vineyard.” The wine becomes Champagne after nearly a decade of maturation, which creates a relationship between time, nature and human gestures.

Thus, the theme of “place” as seen through its “mythological force and its historical aura” is at the center of both Dom Pérignon’s creative vision and Swinton’s performance, alongside the vision of Vincent Chaperon, chef de cave of the maison.

Dom Pérignon noted its cultural impact has grown over the decades in its unwavering commitment to creation and ongoing collaborations with notable leaders across the art and culture spaces by facilitating mutual inspiration. Since 2005, the maison has created long-term relationships with the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Takashi Murakami, David Lynch, Lenny Kravitz and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

The upcoming Guggenheim Museum Bilbao’s performance follows the 2025 campaign launch of “Creation is an eternal journey,” featuring Swinton, Zoë Kravitz, Anderson .Paak, Iggy Pop, Takashi Murakami and more.

Following a private event held on June 4, the museum will host a two-day public performance on June 5 and 6. At the private event, Dom Pérignon will simultaneously unveil four new vintages: Vintage 2017 from previous longtime chef de cave Richard Geoffroy; Vintage 2018, the first vintage from chef de cave Vincent Chaperon; Rose 2010 and Plénitude 2 2008.

Registration for Tilda Swinton’s Dom Pérignon performance will be available on Thursday by booking in advance on the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao’s website.
