Cricket World Cup League 2: Nepal beat Scotland by six wickets

Hosts Nepal defeated Scotland by six wickets in the teams’ second Cricket World Cup League 2 meeting of the ongoing tri-series.

Scotland batted first in Kirtipur and were 194 all out after Brandon McMullen’s big-hitting 73 from 44 balls and a steady 51 from Michael English.

Lalit Rajbanshi took four wickets, including those of Scotland captain Richie Berrington (12) and Michael Leask (one).

In Nepal’s reply, Khushal Bhurtel fell lbw to McMullen for 28 and Aasif Sheikh was run out for 29 after an early flurry of boundaries.

But Ishan Pandey’s 55 and Rohit Paudel’s unbeaten 74 put Nepal firmly on top as they finished on 199-4, Paudel finishing the contest with a six.

The Scots had beaten Nepal and the United States earlier in the series and play the latter again on Wednesday.

Nepal also have two wins in the tri-series before their final match with the United States on Friday.
