Wellington Advocacy welcomes Patrick Weeks, Burson brings on Brian Pearl, Allan O’Dette now at Sussex Strategy Group


This week’s movers on the government relations scene.

Patrick Weeks (LinkedIn)

Wellington Advocacy is welcoming Patrick Weeks to its team as a director.

In a post made on LinkedIn, Wellington Advocacy said “Patrick has spent more than a decade providing analysis and advice in high-stakes scenarios at the most senior levels of Canadian federal politics. […] Patrick offers partners a clear and informed perspective on the evolving media and information landscape.”

Weeks was previously the strategic research director to the federal Liberal caucus, where he contributed to the Liberals’ national election strategy during the 2019, 2021, and 2025 elections.

Brian Pearl (LinkedIn)

Burson has brought on Brian Pearl as a senior vice president and national lead for corporate affairs

In a post shared on LinkedIn, Pearl announced his joining, stating, “What drew me to Burson is the opportunity to do that work at scale, alongside an exceptional team with visionary leadership, for many of the world’s most impactful brands and institutions.”

Most recently, Pearl worked as a managing partner at NATIONAL Public Relations. Prior to that, Brian worked at a number of finance and technology companies, bringing with him a wide spectrum of experience and knowledge.

Allan O’Dette (LinkedIn)

Allan O’Dette is now senior counsel at Sussex Strategy Group.

In posts made on LinkedIn, Sussex Strategy Group expressed their excitement to have O’Dette as a new member of the team. “Allan brings extensive executive leadership experience shaped by senior roles across business, government, and highly regulated sectors, with deep expertise in governance, strategic advisory, and complex stakeholder environments.”

Allan brings a wealth of experience to Sussex, having most recently served as CEO of the Ontario Medical Association. Prior to that position, he was CEO of the Ontario Medical Association Insurance, CIO of the Ontario Investment Office, President and CEO of Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and director of market access and government relations at GlaxoSmithKline.
