Minister Sidhu speaks with Australia’s Minister for Trade and Tourism

Yesterday, the Honourable Maninder Sidhu, Minister of International Trade, spoke with the Honourable Don Farrell, the Minister for Trade and Tourism of Australia.

The Ministers discussed ways to deepen trade and investment ties between Canada and Australia, as well as advancing diversification with stable and reliable partners, and next steps for the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). They reaffirmed their commitment to rules-based trade and underscored the pivotal role of trade missions in unlocking shared commercial opportunities and driving long-lasting economic partnerships.

The Ministers agreed to continue to work together to strengthen cooperation through strategic partnerships and increased economic engagement between Canada and Australia.
