Guggenheim’s Schwartz Warns Power Crunch Imperils US in AI Race


Unlike previous energy transitions in which government incentives nurtured nascent technologies like wind and solar, Schwartz noted that hyperscalers and large data-center operators now have the capacity to pay premium prices for electricity, potentially accelerating development of new power sources. This represents a shift in how energy infrastructure gets financed, with private capital taking a more prominent role.
