BERLIN — A driver plowed into a group of people in the center of the German city of Leipzig on Monday and several were injured, police said.

Few details were immediately available. Police didn’t immediately give a precise number of injured, but said there were no deaths, German news agency dpa reported.

The incident happened in the Grimmaische Strasse, a street that leads into central Leipzig’s shopping area.
